U-label by Scantrust Release notes 2025/09/18

Improvements made in our products in September :

Text around the QR code

  • You can add two lines of text around the QR code using “\” as a line break.
  • QR codes can now be created in five different sizes.
  • The default text size has been adjusted, with a minimum of 1.5 mm for the smallest version.
  • The quiet zone around the QR code has been expanded.

New QR template naming feature

  • When saving the QR Design as a template for future use, you are now able to give it a name. This will make it easier to distinguish different templates in the future.

Content and language display logic for non-EU countries

When a consumer scans a QR code from a non-EU country (other than Norway), the displayed content and language will vary based on your settings:

  • If "Show e-label content in the official language of the EU country" is enabled in Settings: Consumers will see the global content displayed in English.
  • If the above option is disabled: Consumers will see the global content in their smartphone's language. If that language is not available, the content will default to English.

In either scenario, if English content is not available, the reference language will be used.

Compliance improvements:

  • The option “Packaging may happen in a protective atmosphere” was removed in the Aromatised Wine template.
  • "Sulphites" is now consistently indicated after the precise name of the following sulphite-related ingredients, in all languages:
    • potassium bisulphite (sulphites)
    • potassium metabisulphite (sulphites)
    • ammonium bisulphite (sulphites)
