Scan Results Interpretation

Genuine

means that a code has been authenticated, meaning it has been scanned with one of the Scantrust apps installed on a supported phone, or with a branded app, with the Scantrust SDK installed on a supported phone. The Green color indicates that with these codes everything is alright - these were scans of Genuine Codes.

  • an active, genuine code authenticated with ‘Scantrust Consumer’ on a supported phone
  • an active, genuine code authenticated with ‘Scantrust Enterprise’ on a supported phone

Verified (Secure Graphic is ignored - the code could still be a counterfeit)

means that a code was scanned with either one of the Scantrust apps on an unsupported phone, or with a third-party app or the native phone camera. The blue color indicates that these codes are in good standing, meaning they are NOT blacklisted and are not inactive. It is very important to remember, that the blue color very clearly indicates that the secure graphic was not checked.

  • an active code scanned with ‘Scantrust Consumer’ on an unsupported phone
  • an active code authenticated with ‘Scantrust Enterprise’ on an unsupported phone
  • an active code quick-scanned with ‘Scantrust Enterprise’ on any phone
  • an active code scanned with any third-party QR Scanner (i.e. Wechat, Line, phone camera, etc.)

Failure

means something was wrong with the code. Either it was authenticated with either one of the Scantrust Apps, or a branded app with the Scantrust SDK on a supported phone and the result was 'Suspected Counterfeit', or the code was inactive, or it was blacklisted, OR the code was scanned with the proper apps on an unsupported phone or a 3rd party app and it was inactive or blacklisted.

  • Blacklisted (Code Status - only QR Code part)
    • scan of any code that was blacklisted
  • Inactive (Code Status - only QR Code part)
    • scan of any code that is inactive
  • Suspected Counterfeit (Secure Graphic)
    • authentication of an active code that failed (possibly counterfeit)
  • Other (Untrained / Unreadable) (Secure Graphic)
    • scan of an Untrained code (either printer or Scantrust issue)
    • during authentication the scanner had a shaky hand or the code scanned was a really bad copy
