Intelligent Redirect allows code redirection based on a wealth of parameters. They can be specific to a single campaign, be applied to a selection of campaigns, or can be valid across the entire company (aka all campaigns).
Parameters include, but are not limited to:
Brand
When starting out you will see the default configuration, which means, all products are redirected to the product URL, and if the product does not have one, it will redirect to the Brand URL. If there is no Brand URL, the user will be redirected to the Company URL, and if that one is empty as well, the user will be redirected to Scantrust.com.
Once you click on CREATE A NEW RULE, you are asked to set up the basic parameters of the rule to create it:
- Rule Name. Note: This should be a name, not a URL.
- For which campaigns it is supposed to be active
- the configuration to WHEN the rule is supposed to be active
- if you want to "Enable App Clip/Instant App" (this is a topic we will discuss at a later point in time)
- Once you save the Rule, it will at first show up in gray
- now you have to apply the parameters. Click anywhere in the gray area to open the rule. You learn that you have to define 1 Scan Destination for the rule to become active
-
A Destination is 'WHERE' the redirection is going. Complete the 3 fields:
- the Scan Destination Name
-
the Scan Destination Type (choose from the drop-down)
- Landing Page
- e-label Landing Page
- Custom URL (chosen here)
- Product URL
- Brand URL
-
and the actual custom URL (https://tree-nation.com/ in this case)
- once done click save, and on the next screen click PUBLISH
- now the rule shows up in green
- and if you expand, you can see the summary of what was configured
- to add conditions, click on EDIT
-
you can add one or multiple conditions
- there can be any combination of conditions, and they can be grouped into a number of different expression blocks
-
you can filter and view your rules according to 4 parameters:
- Campaign Association - find rules applied to the selected campaigns
- Status - Active vs Paused
- Archived - Archived vs Not Archived (YES/NO)
-
App Clip/Instant App - does nor does not have (YES/NO)
- Campaign Association - find rules applied to the selected campaigns
- Redirection rules hierarchy is according to location within your list. If a code is scanned the system will check if it meets any of the conditions in the rule at the top, and if not the next rule down and so on, until a condition is met. Archived and inactive rules are ignored.
