Is organoleptic information allowed to be shown on the e-label

Organoleptic properties are the aspects of food, water or other substances that create an individual experience via the senses—including taste, sight, smell, and touch.

While there is no explicit definition of what the Commission considers marketing/commercial info or acceptable information apart from the link to the website company, which has been identified in the most recent Q&A as marketing information, organoleptic characteristics are not regulatory information and therefore we would recommend that these not be added to your e-labels.

Important note: The information provided in this article is to be considered as guidance on compliance with the regulations and therefore you should consult with your legal counsel and the regulatory body in your country.
