Displaying Reference Intakes’ percentage in the nutrition declaration

In our “Other” template, designed for the voluntary declaration of information for food and beverage products other than Wine, Aromatized Wine and Spirits products, you now have the possibility to express, in the nutrition information table, the energy and nutrients as a percentage of EU daily reference intake for adults. 

By enabling the toggle as shown below, a column will be added to the nutrition table, showing the Reference Intake percentage for each line. 


If you have provided the per-portion value, consumers will be able to toggle between viewing the nutritional information (and percentage of Reference Intakes, if enabled) either on a per-100 ml or g basis or a per-portion basis.



 

The percentages indicated "per 100g/ml" or "per portion" are calculated based on the European Union daily reference intakes set out in Annex XIII of  Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 and shown below:
